This is the Winter 2017 course discussion blog for and by UCLA students enrolled in LGBTQ Studies 183: Queer Arts in LA.
This course includes a creative component. When this course was first offered during the Fall 2012 quarter, the students researched queer artists who have a significant connection to Los Angeles. Then created a collaborative website.
Here is the link to the undergrad queer symposium here at UCLA next quarter:
Short description from the webpage:
This year’s theme will explore the various intersectionalities within the LGBTQ(+) identity spectrum and how we navigate and embrace these multiple aspects of our identity in a divided world. We are seeking papers from undergraduate students that explore what it means to possess a LGBTQ(+) identity in dialogue (or conflict) with one’s religion, sex, gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, ability, legel status, and place of origin. FREE Breakfast, lunch, and after-event reception when you sign up at the event!
