Having just watched the VISA video posted to the blog, I can see why some of her audience may, on occasion, be less than amused. I remember one comment in class Wednesday pointing out that, for someone to portray the struggles of a person or group without feeling those pains, or enduring those struggles, might seem somewhat insensitive. I, however, appreciate and applaud VISA's manner of activism. The world benefits greatly from the message she sends, and although some may be offended, there are arguably many more who come away having learned something, or been exposed to subject matter that they would maybe never have been exposed to. Sometimes we need to push out of our comfort zones, and I believe VISA is allowing her audience to do so with her up-front, in-your-face style of comedy and activism.
